PLACA.AI is a cloud-based license plate recognition (LPR) platform headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas. We provide solar-powered, wire-free cameras for HOA communities, schools, apartment complexes, and parking enforcement – completely independent from law enforcement.
Our Mission
PLACA.AI exists to give private communities the security tools they need – without surrendering resident privacy. We believe that license plate recognition technology should serve the community that owns it, not external agencies or government databases.
What We Do
We design and operate cloud-based LPR systems for three primary markets:
- HOA & Gated Communities – GuardCam automates gate access, logs all entries, and alerts managers to unauthorized vehicles.
- Schools & Campuses – LineCam automates student pickup by matching parent plates to student files, reducing dismissal time by up to 40%.
- Apartment & Multi-Family – GateCam replaces physical key fobs with automatic, plate-based gate access for residents.
Our Privacy Commitment
- We do not share vehicle data with law enforcement, ICE, DHS, or any government agency
- We have never signed a data-sharing agreement with any law enforcement body
- Vehicle data belongs to the community that collected it – not to PLACA.AI
- Data is retained for 30 days then permanently deleted
- Government access requires a court order directed to the community directly
Our Technology
PLACA.AI cameras use deep learning neural networks trained on millions of US and Canadian license plates. The system achieves up to 99% read accuracy in daylight, darkness, rain, and at vehicle speeds up to 120 mph. All processing happens in the cloud – no on-site server required.
Cameras are solar-powered with LTE/4G connectivity – eliminating the need for electrical work, trenching, or internet connectivity at the installation site.
